Jack Guthrie
This is my first attempt at a tribute show–so I just decided to pick Jack Guthrie. He may have been Woody Guthrie’s cousin, but he was one of country music’s pioneers and had he not died of TB [like his idol Jimmie Rodgers], he surely would have been one of the top names in country music history.
Here’s an hours worth of classic western swing-honky tonk-cowboy delights–
..oh yeah Jack’s 1946 hit of Oakie Boogie is considered to be one of he first rock n roll records!!
